This project is an update to the concept art I created for Project RAMA in an earlier stage. This project aims to direct asteroids in and out of orbit using inertia to propel them. During the initial project, the concept was there, but the physics and mechanics of how to perform such a feat was still being determined. Made In Space won funding from NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), a program which awards grants for furthering space exploration. These drawings represent an update to their research. You can read more on Medium and on Inverse.
Below is a process video showing how I made the first version of the poster. The image that I am referencing is another piece of concept art I did for Made In Space.
